The name of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh is “Amaravathi - అమరావతి“

As soon as the government announced  the name of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh as “Amaravathi“  there has been a considerable debate on that decision. People familiar with ancient telugu history are happy with the move and people who are fond of the modern telugu culture and history are wondering about the reason behind it. Here is a quick analysis that will clear up your doubts and give you a new perception on the name.


1. Amaravathi was the first capital city of Andhra desam, the ancient telugu country.

Yes, you heard it right. The people speaking telugu had their own country 2000 years ago and it was called “Andhra desam” which was ruled by The Mourya and Sathavahana dynasties. The Telugu Kings ruled almost half of India from this very place called Amaravathi.

5. Choosing a name related to  the rich history of Andhra helps will be  beneficial in long term.
As soon as the plan for a new capital was announced people from different Sects of the society came up with proposals to name the capital on the name respective legends from their own Sects/Castes. As you know it cannot be done on one side,  Naming it after Vijayawada or Guntur might project it only as a particular city on the other side. So the new capital needs a new name that is not controversial and represents a positive warmth/emotion. This way Amaravathi will be a good choice as it is directly related to our state’s history.

6. The location of the capital is a very wise decision by the government.


The city being located between Guntur and Vijayawada , two already established cities is a added benefit as it takes it a very less time to grow into a metropolitan city with its own prominence.

7. Amaravathi has been recently declared as a cultural heritage site of the central government. This helps its name grow faster and comes with funds for development and rules that keep the heritage site maintain its glory.

8. Amaravathi School of Art has its significant place in Indian History. 


Amaravathi, Gandhara and Madhura school of arts date back to 3rd century and taught Arts to India Centuries ago. Amaravathi Sculptures have a great significance in Ancient Indian Art. The Amaravathi Sculptures are a special attraction in the Museums in London and Paris.

9. Almost all the capital cities of South India were built or named by invaders of that era,  Hyderabad by Gulf Invaders of  that time (16th century) , Banglore , Delhi &  Madras by British Invaders).

So, this will be one of the prestigious moments in Indian history as the capital is being build and named by our own people reflecting our own ancient telugu culture and legacy.

How To Link Voter ID Card With Aadhar Card.... Do It Before Deadline July 31

Indian Government is taking measures against the Bogus voter id card (EPIC) holders. To remove the details of the fraudulent voters from their database, a new campaign for linking aadhaar card to voter id card is being carried out. Project to Link Voter Id Card with Aadhar Cards Launched in India on 05-02-2015. Here we are providing you the detailed procedure on How to Link voter ID card with Aadhaar Card (Aadhaar Seeding).

EPIC-Aadhaar Seeding:

Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India. This number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.  Aadhaar Card which is a constituent of planning commission of India established under the discretion of Central Government in the year 2009 to provide the citizen of India a Unique Identification Card.

Many cases of Voter ID card fraud have been reported in the country.It is difficult to find out such bogus voters and eliminate the details from the voter’s database. The process of Aadhaar-Voter ID Card linkage is also referred as EPIC-Aadhaar Seeding.

Deadline for linking Aadhaar with voter ID:

District deputy election officer Sangeeta Chowgule said, “The deadline for linking Aadhaar with voter ID card is July 31. The key reason behind speeding up it is the swelling of the voters’ list. The election office has removed the names of voters whose names were repeated or who have shifted to other locations.

Chowgule also said that the website of Election Commission of India has a special link where voters can link their Aadhaar card number with their voter ID online. The procedure has started from March 3 and all the government officers were asked to link their Aadhaar card numbers first.

How to Link Voter ID Card(EPIC) with Aadhaar Card Number?

The Indian States are maintaining their own portals for the linking process. Following methods are available to complete the linking process.

Portal Seeding/ Self Seeding:

Online portals have been set up by State Governments so that the electoral can visit the website and get the process done him/herself.

• Visit the Official website of EPIC or Click Here
• You need to enter your Voter ID Card (Or EPIC) number, Aadhaar Card number and registered mobile number for receiving OTP (one time password)

• Click on the Generate OTP button. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
• Enter the OTP and click on the validate button.

• Compare your UID & EPIC Card Information and click on the “Seed” Button

• That’s it…!!! Your voter ID card link with Aadhar Card.
